Physical description: Midi length cocktail dress with short sleeves and a lowered bodice. Irregular neckline. Dress made of lace fabric with a floral pattern (bunches of roses surrounding leaves and stems). Lace in beige, transparent; the rhythm of the pattern regular. Flowers embroidered with sequins and beads in pearl and beige. Visible lining in black silk. Zipped at the side.

The dress belongs to a collection of memorabilia of Helena Rubinstein (1872-1965), the founder of the cosmetics company Helena Rubinstein Inc., which is still operating today, donated to the POLIN Museum by Suzanne Slesin. The "Lima" dress comes from the Haute Couture collection for autumn and winter 1954 (H. line) by Christian Dior SA.
